National Hate Month!

Between the snap at the tongues of Serena Williams and Joe Wilson, then the stealing of a young girls thunder, courtesy of Kanye West. We are viewed in a world of hate, yet again. Conservitives spreading their shenanigans through the media and bad sportsmenship. I knew already that Kanye West was mentally unstable since the 2006 racist lash against George Bush, but ruining someone's night just because his dumbass couldn't keep an opinion to yourself, is the reason that he should of been kicked out of public gatherings when he cried for not winning a cheesy award. Serena showing bad sportsmenship is sad. She was a role model to many atheletes and known to be a inspiration to the African American community and then she had ruin it by showing anger. I'm not sure if she was having a bad day or going through a large amount of stress, but, in the words of the Chappels Show, don't let "keeping it real go wrong". It seems that we've lost our touch with courtisy and civility. We are becoming on par to the low by letting rage control our peace. Joe Wilson could of just kept quite, I think he owes an apology to America for his ignorant interuption. I think Kanye should be banned from any social event, or atleast kept in a cage in Jay-z studio to only be released when nessisary. I also think that Serena needs a break from the tennis world since the stress is hitting her harder than usual, a nice vacation seems legit.

Also the massive appearace of sex offenders this month is depressing. What the hell is wrong with people? If you're horny, play one out with the hand or something but don't attack the innocent. Its sad to see the news is off focus from health care, the war, and the recession because of stupid people. Shit!

Why do people always seem to hate their president?

Note: I'm not pro or against the current president, I have always been a neutral observer.

Why is it that after a long run of our already hated George W. Bush saga, where the majority of the people had somewhat of a common hate for him, we are now seeing another trend in hating yet another president? I'll admit that no one is perfect, but the majority of opinionated columnist and our ever-so-grateful Fox news is providing itself to be a step below ignorance by resorting to the classic tactics of immaturity that convey in our society. During the election we saw a heavy increase of the youth's involvement in our election. This striked me as comical because any idiot could shout "Obama" in a college scene in a non-political class (like Algebra 0301) and say something along the lines of a typical uneducated insult. Then we hear the snakes of the mixed news claim Obama is the lesser of two evils, meaning that no one in America knew what was going on. Here it is, a little more than half a year after the election, and we get yet another hatred orgy from the public proving that you're all a bunch ducks in a acid pond.

Looking into our history, its been known that we often hate because we either fear, disagree, or follow the bandwagon. I can understand the ones who disagree with Obama's plans. Most of the intelligent opposing crowd has some type of valid opinion with factual proof of why they disagree, and they often express their opinion with calamity. But what about the idiots? The ones that claim they hate the president with no real reason? You can take a look at Glenn Beck and Rush Limbaugh who both make a effort to oppose Obama but have no exact reasoning to do so, nor do they have anything factual or evident to say, it seems like a humorous side show. Then there is the youth. There are granted some educated young opposers, but the rest are just bumping along the unknown. The hate for Obama is comical due to the lack of reasoning. If you ask some regular hate filled protester, you typically get the same reations:

Typical:
1. "They hate Obama for planing on fucking with the taxes"... What? So you mean that legendary bail-out plan that was supposed to save your banks and American car suppliers that the Bush and congress passed was free? Or are any of you college twits really feeling a pinch in society when you dependent on your student loans and/or parental feeding? How many people have the receipt to cost of the war in Iraq? How would McCain handle this any differently? How does America pay its bills without touching the peoples money?

2. "He is going to ruin health care"... How can you ruin something that's been shitted on for years? His idea might not be the best, but nor is anyone elses. Sure, we can experiment with free health care for all and watch it either benefit or fail, but its a scary thing. A lot of people are known to take advantage of what is free. We already pay for those illegals that "Take the jobs of American citizens"As in the jobs that no one is obviously willing to do by a system of letting them get by without paying taxes. Take an uninsured person to a hospitol and watch them go bankrupt. Medical bills are friends for life.

3. "He wants to ruin business" How? by raising taxes on the ones that make more than the average person? The gluttony is hilarious, what is it that "Rich Folk" plan on spending their extra money on? Supporting a "super sweet 16?" Buying another yacht? It seems stereotypical to say that about the upper class but unfortunately, its sadly true. Word to Aesop Rock (listen to "Pigs") People are money hungry. Take a look what Citigroup did with its bail-out funds.

4. "He is a socialist" What has Obama done so far that leads people to make such off the wall accusations? Just because he wants to help the lower class doesn't make him a Socialist. It makes him a person.

5. "He negotiates with terrorist", because its the end of the world if someone is looking for a peaceful outcome to a dark time. He can talk to who ever he wants as a effort to keep the nation safe, but there's that idiot in the corner who overreacts as soon as Obama shakes hands with "One of them"

6. "He is racist". Stop listing to Glenn Beck and the rest of the Fox news bigots. He has not done one thing to lead to such an accusation. Even with the Cambridge incident people called him a racist because he referred to the police as "stupid" I had no clue "stupid" was a racist term. Its all just a cluster-fuck of ignorance.

7. "He hasn't fulfilled any of his promises". After 7 months he is supposed to everything, right? Also, name 1 president that completed every single promise they made in American History. Its damn near impossible. Why are we holding Obama to such a high standard?

This in only an opinion blog, and also a rant. I remind you that I'm still a neutral player in politics but I'm seeing the reaction of most Americans as immature. We are hating this president, just to hate. At least with Bush we had an general reason. I'm sure if McCain was president, we'd have immature hate towards him too, comparing him to Bush and calling him a Dictator. Its sad to see that our country basis itself of attack.

A new mono

I feel somewhat useless now that the economy is bad and its difficult to find a job. If you have a job, keep it, don't you even think about quitting, wait that shit out until you are fired. I miss waiting tables at Bennigans, having about $100 a day, and having a kick ass staff to work with. Now I've been trying to make ends meet working mulitple jobs and losing sleep. Word of advice, never. buy. a. goddamn. credit. card.
Manny and his chair

I need to work on my photography, or atleast get out of this goddamn city and explore more. I haven't been out of the U.S in years. Its somewhat borring. I've been thinking of going to Canada to see the sights, but I want to go in the Autumn or Winter, and capture some real seasonal shots. I was planning on going to the desert for the summer, my friend Manny (working on his chair) says that Nevada is the best desert ever. He doesn't know that I got to see Egypt, so I doubt it could Compare, but I wouldn't mind checking it out.

In search of work...

Since that photography business shut down, I've been searching for a job, wish me luck!

Catch up.

So yesterday I was talking to a co worker about building a portfolio for photography. I already have three, but a newer one with more portraits would be nice. Right now we work for a small business that does a combination of family and glamor shots. Also we new equipment, badly. I decided to get the D200 instead of anything new, I love that camera and even though the d700 is and d300 are newer and have a bit more power, the D200 is all I need. That and I can buy more glass for my cameras with the left over cash.

The other day another co-worker had brought in a Cannon camera, the xti I believe. That wasn't a bad camera but I prefer my Nikon's quality. The lenses he had were strictly digital made, I like being able to switch between film and digi. The only thing I liked about the xti was the fast shutter speed, but other than that It was a downer. I also hate the whole "settings on the LCD" deal. Its a cute litte screen that displays all of the settings but completly wastes the battery if you shoot in manuel mode. My D50 and D70 and soon to be D200 all have this setting panel on the top of the camera, so the battery is saved for actually using the camera. But I cant rant that much about that because Nikon does that shit too, with the D40 and the D60, bad choice. I would be amazed if Nikon came out with a camera built like the FM10, but digital.
Imagine a camera that really feels like a slr, you have to set the aperture through the lens, set the shutter speed and iso the old fashioned way, and its all digital. That would be amazing. I want a digital verion of real slr like the fm10 or the FE2. The day that happends I'd spent more on photo gear than any other thing I do, hell I'd even sell my older shit just to get one of those.

It sucks that my buddy Pat is leaving for the Navy, but then again its also a good thing. He hasn't left yet but is well on his way to doing so. Its going to be a hell of alot quieter without that pat machine running around making sence of everything thats going on. He did promise to keep in contact and visit alot but he's not going to be the same when he gets back. As far as it being a good thing, it gives him the structure he needs for a better future. He always sounded depressed when mentioning future plans because he couldn't afford school and has been working minimum wage for a long time. The Navy will hopefully give him a brighter career. Manny hasn't spoke much about Pats decidion but I'm pretty sure he will spill some words before Pat leaves.

Speaking of which, We'll have to throw one last party to get Pat wasted.
-Joe.

The Modern Day Beatnik and all the world's words.

So I began typing the adaptation to my little project, "The Modern Day Beatnik". I would like to get some guest writers and poets to contribute to the creation. Unfortunately I'm facing a long winded project that might last a while before it is finished, although it would be an accomplishment worth enjoying once achieved.

Also, I had an odd week. I normally like to see progress in people but unfortunately that did not happen with my buddy from Harker Heights. Oh well, life goes on.
At work, or the forceful slave drive to achieve nothing, I spent days wondering why we had to rearrange displays. I asked the boss and she said it was good for business, but in all actually, I think its just to give us something to do. I cant see why any idiot would just randomly walk by and say, "Holy hell, this entire place is rearranged, lets buy new shit!"
Oh well.

Nikon has a compact professional camera coming out called the D700. The only reason why I want this camera is because it has a full 35mm frame. I was saving for a d3 or something but I think by the time I round up enough cash, the D700 would go down in price. I still fine with my D50 and D70s. I might actually buy the D200 instead of borrow. But the D700 just seems a little more bad ass.

Aw maaaaan...

I was in a car accident 4 weeks ago, well, this lady ran into my side, and this collision repair shop has spent about 3+ weeks to repair it. All it need was an allignment and a bumper replacement. Its not that I'm being impaient because I want my car to run decently, but for some reason, everyday they say its ready... and then they say it isn't. I've been bumming rides for four weeks stright. I normally like to go out and do shit but oh well... Hopefully today is the day...
